We provide a free public "ready reference" service. This includes dates, page numbers and headlines for up to 5 related articles. (This does not include searching for advertisements or paid obituary notices.)
For more extensive requests and for copies of articles, the charges are:
$5.00/article
$.25/headline in an index list
$60.00/hour for research time
Requests for articles and indexes should be made over the telephone.
For fastest response, please call (707) 526-8520, Tuesday though Friday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
If you would like to know when a particular article ran in The Press Democrat, please provide the following information:
- Tell us as much about the article as you know: the topic, approximate date it ran, what section of the paper it ran in, the author.
- Please include your telephone number. We are usually able to answer more quickly via telephone.
There is no charge for requests regarding dates of single articles.
